Windows & Doors Before & After in Greenacres, FL
Anyone can show you a catalog photo of a window. What tells you more is a real opening in a real house here in Greenacres, the way it looked when water, sun, and time had done their work, and the way it looked after we set it true. We keep this gallery because the work itself makes the case. You’ll see the framing, the flashing, the alignment, and the glass. Mostly you’ll see why “if the pane is not true, the job is not done” has been the rule on our trucks since 2008.
Recent Transformations
Sliding Glass Door Replacement, Greenacres
This is a door we see all over neighborhoods off Jog Road. The track is worn to a groove, the rollers are dead, and the homeowner has been lifting the whole panel with both hands to get it to move. The frame has settled out of square. We pulled the old door, corrected the rough opening, reset the frame on a new sill, and hung a new energy-efficient sliding door. The difference you can’t see in the photo is the sound, or rather the lack of it, when the panel rolls on its track.
Impact Window Installation, Greenacres
Before this job, the house had builder-grade single-pane windows that were not doing much against a Florida storm season. We replaced them with code-compliant impact windows from one of our authorized manufacturer lines, with both warranty layers registered before the truck left the driveway. The install took a morning. The change inside is immediate: the rooms stay cooler, and the midday glare that used to bake the east side of the house is gone.
Front Entry Door Replacement, Greenacres
The outgoing door was a hollow-core original that had swollen in the humidity and no longer closed without a shoulder. More importantly, the jamb had pulled away from the framing at the top hinge. We installed a new pre-hung fiberglass entry door, shimmed and squared it, and re-flashed the threshold so the afternoon rain we get in Palm Beach County stays outside. The owner can now latch the door with one finger and the deadbolt lines up true.
Energy-Efficient Window Retrofit, Greenacres
This family’s west-facing bedroom windows were turning the room into an oven by 3 p.m., and the old aluminum frames were sweating so badly the drywall under the sill was starting to soften. We pulled the old units, repaired the sill framing, and set Low-E dual-pane windows sized to the opening. The thermostat no longer fights the sun all afternoon. The homeowner told us the power bill dropped enough that the windows are paying for themselves.
Glass Railing System, Greenacres Home
This deck had an old wood railing that blocked the view of the backyard and was starting to rot at the post bases. We set a frameless glass railing system with stainless hardware, anchored to the structure. The result is a deck that finally shows the yard it overlooks. These jobs are detail work: every post has to be plumb, every panel has to seat level, or the eye catches it immediately.
Full-Lite Door and Sidelight, Greenacres
The previous entry was dark, a solid door with a broken sidelight the previous installer had simply caulked around and called good. We reworked the opening, ordered a full-lite custom door and matching sidelight through one of our manufacturer lines, and set both in a new, square frame. Light now reaches the front hall for the first time in years. The homeowner said it felt like a different house from the street.
